What are Lancashire man Maz's chances as The Traitors returns to BBC tonight
Our Lancashire hopeful is still standing strong on The Traitors but is he likely to survive tonight’s episode?
Last week, the popular BBC show The Traitors returned to our screens and included in the 22 new contestants was a civil servant from Lancashire.
59-year-old Maz from Preston is a father of five who says he signed up for The Traitors simply because he loved the show
Speaking about what he will bring the show before entering the castle, Maz, full name Marzook Bana, said:” I'm 59 and I've done various things in my life, so I feel as though I've got good life experience. I'm told that I'm good to get on with and I'm funny - my kids say I'm funny looking. I think I can bring some humour, some chilled out moments, some interesting thoughts, and I think I will be able to add to the jigsaw of the game.”
So far only three episodes have aired of the latest series and poor Maz has faced the murder list twice- making him one of only remaining contestants confirmed not to be the Secret Traitor.
With the series resuming tonight, we’re taking a look at how likely it is that our Prestonian will go all the way...

What are Maz’s chances?
Maz is universally deemed the most likely to be murdered in tonight’s episode.
Gambling.com has the Prestonian as the favourite at 15/8 (34.8%) whilst MyBettingSites.co.uk at 6/1 (40%) - other well known betting sites do nto currently offer odds for the show.
A spokesperson at MyBettingSites.co.uk said: “When it comes to the next victim of the Traitors, The Secret Traitor has already shown a clear desire to remove Maz, after the retired civil servant appeared twice on their murder shortlist, making him the standout candidate to go next with odds of 6/1 to get murdered”
But what does a Traitors expert think?
We asked Traitors icon Paul Gorton, who appeared as a traitor in series two of the progamme, whether he agreed with the bookies that Maz would be the next murder victim.
He replied, courtesy of Whichbingo: “Not Maz, Rhys has to be killed. It’d be a really quick, clean kill. “If you’re being weird looking at the family tree and then the next minute there’s dots all over the family tree, you’d be like, ‘Oh well, you two were in here.’ Because the first question will be, ‘Well, who stood there most of the evening?’ And Rhys will say, ‘Well, it was Stephen and Rachel.’
“Rhys has to go as well because that was the weirdest thing. When two people want to have a conversation and the guy goes, ‘Do you want me to go?’ What goes through his brain then? To say, ‘Well, why did he want me to go? Because they must have been talking about me.’”
We also spoke to Paul last week just after the new series’ first episode.
He judged that Maz was either likely to go very far or be out very soon!
Paul said: “I think he's an interesting character so you never know what happens with these people. It's normally the ones that aren't too much in the edit at the start that become bigger characters later on. So you never know. Or they just killed straight away!”
