Last week, we shared the story of Lea resident Paul Brookes, who said that overgrown bushess on Lea Road are posing a safety threat to pedestrians and drivers.
Paul first cited the bus stop opposite Summer Trees Avenue, where the overgrown hedge obscures the stop and blocks access to those with a push chair or wheelchair.

The story sparked quite a response online, with most expressing sympathy with Paul‘s annoyance, whilst others were not so understanding...
Some readers related to the problem:
Lucy-jayne Ashcroft: “It’s all over, been couple of accidents already in place because of this.”
Jannette Upton: “It’s everywhere n[o]t just one place”
Mandy Robinson: “Same near the Cawsey roundabout in Penwortham. The corner of a bend overgrown and you have to walk on the road to get past. Dangerous!”

Johannes Christian von Voges: “I mean, you could get your hedge trimmers out of it bothers you that much. Council do a decent job but there’s a lot of areas to cover.”
