The sun shone down on Wrea Green Field Day yesterday as dancers and musicians took to the streets for the first time in more than two years. Here are some of the best pictures of the event.

He said: "We had two processions, the Rose Queen crowning, a circus school, a farmer's market and a tea tent. We had fancy dress competitions with a hedgehog, a little pirate, Mary Poppins and more." Photo: Daniel Martino

The event was the first of its kind in more than two years, as the outbreak of Covid-19 in early 2020 meant the parade and funfair could not go ahead. Photo: Daniel Martino

7. Wrea Green Field Day
John said: "The last Field Day we had was in 2019. It was strange coming back and getting it all going again - I think we'd half forgotten! Some of the bands we used to have had retired, some of the people who had run sports for us had retired, so we had to get whole new crowds in." Photo: Daniel Martino

8. Wrea Green Field Day
"It was small in comparison to previous years. We normally have a retiring Rose Queen - but it's been three years since the last one, and the old Rose Queen (Amelia Hatton) has just left the village. Nor did we have any visiting Rose Queens, so it was small in that way, but there was a good crowd, some good bands, and hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves." Photo: Daniel Martino
