The Millennium Book and accompanying box file had been on display at Patronal Festivals in, St Helen’s Church, Churchtown. Garstang. Lancashire and have both been misplaced.

In the run up to the year 2000 many residents within Kirkland Parish compiled an album, recording lives, thoughts, memories of people living in the Parish at that time so the archive holds great importance to the town.

Resident in The Parish of St Helen’s, Linda Seed said: “The archive could be languishing in a cupboard, on top of a piano or in an attic and the present family/residents are not aware of the importance of the boxes, or who to return them to.

“Nothing was scanned and the items are irreplaceable. There is no photographic evidence of the box folders or their contents. Many items were donated in good faith, for this time capsule.

“The finished product consisted of a beautiful book, with a Sycamore wood cover both front and back, containing the original accounts, and an accompanying box file containing additional material. Both the book and the additional items were placed in green baize boxes.

“While every effort has been made to find the archives, I do hope with the passing of time and help from further afield we can spread news about the search. If you are able to assist in relocating the lost items please get in touch; Indeed if you have the lost items you could drop them off anonymously at St Helen’s Church. Churchtown, Garstang, or contact [email protected].”
