The show calls on children to upload pictures and videos for categories including: Kitchen Disco; Scrambled!'s Got Talent; Laughter Laboratory; Outsmart Sam ;Sharezies.

Reece's joke was filmed at Chorley Vets on Market Street.

Reeece had to impress a trio of judges and after a three-way tie he was chosen the winner by the show's presenter who had the casting vote.

Make Station created Reece's video submission. Operated by Reece and his dad, the YouTube video creator puts together short films.

It describes itself: "We are Make Station, and we say "NO" to boring long videos and aim to deliver you nothing but brain candy. From fun reviews on products, science, and other whimsical wonders."

Tracy Higgins, youth director at Cartwright Drama Studio, Friday Street, Chorley. explained that the Scrambled producer got in touch with her to see if any children from the studio might be interested in taking part in the show and it went from there.

"She probably contacted a lo of drama schools all over the country," said Tracy.

Two other children from Cartwright's, Poppy Proudfoot and Eve Turner, were also chosen by the show but unfortunately did not make it as far as winner Reece.

Tracy said Reece showed a lot of effort and imagination with his submission.

"He went out of his way and put a lot of hard work in," she said.

"As far as I know it's something he's come up with himself."

Reece joined the studio last year.

Tracy said: "He's always had great imagination, great improvisation and is well liked.

"He's just a fun lad in the class."

Make Station put out the video on its Facebook page and posted: "Here we have Reece's first TV appearance on national TV for CITV scrambled, and the icing on the cake was he won Scrambled Star and beat the other entrants.

"A massive thanks have to go to Chorley Vets for letting us film and assisting with production on the day. A special thank you to Tracy @ Cartwright Drama Studio YOUTH for not only getting us this opportunity but for guiding Reece into the fine young actor he is fast becoming.

"Well done Reece".

Cartwright Drama Studio YOUTH said on its Facebook page: "HUGE congratulations to our student Reece".
