The much-loved War Horse pub in Buckshaw Village, has officially reopened today following a major, six figure investment.

The family-friendly pub on Buckshaw Avenue continues to be a hub for the community offering a great range of food, drinks, sports and entertainment for all ages, appetites and occasions.

There is a new open plan layout with fresh décor, lighting and furnishings so it’s more welcoming and comfortable for groups of all sizes whether they are visiting for drinks, dining, sports or entertainment. The works have also included a full refurbishment of the toilets.

There is plenty for sports fans to enjoy thanks to upgraded TV and audio systems showing Sky Sports and TNT Sports plus the introduction of a second competition-standard dart board.

Outside, the kerbside appeal has been boosted thanks to repainting and new garden furniture.

Speaking after the official reopening, Andrew Bishop, general manager of The War Horse, said: “We are so pleased to be open again. This pub is not about bricks and mortar, it is all about people and the community and so to see people enjoying our new look is brilliant.

"The new layout really helps customers find the space they want for drinks or dining, or to sit back and make the most of the range of sports and entertainment.

"The beauty of The War Horse is it is here for the everyday and for special occasions. We have menus to suit all diets and appetites, and we’re so pleased to be open as we count down to Christmas.”
