Buckshaw school bus reader reaction:  "We moved here over 15 years ago and it wasn’t a problem then, it’s become more of a problem as the village has expanded"

One parent – Marika Botham, 42, who lives in Holland House Way, says her 11-year-old daughter Sienna, who is due to start St Michael's Church of England High School in Chorley next month, has no way of getting to her new school without a long, unsupervised walk as she has had her bus pass season ticket applications rejected.

She has now started a petition asking Lancashire Council to review the school transport issue and allow parents to have a safe way of getting their children to school.

Marika Bm: “We need help. We can't wait until something bad happens to the young children trying to get to school. The school bus services are next to none in Buckshaw and the public buses don't stop at schools.”
