Body found in Preston believed to be that of missing Blackpool man David Watkinson
Police believe the body of a man found in Preston is that of Blackpool man reported missing since last month.
David Watkinson, 56, from the resort, was last seen on September 24.
This morning officers were contacted by a member of the public who reported seeing the body of a man in the docks at Mariners’ Way, Preston
A Lancashire Police spokesman said this afternoon: "Whilst he has yet to be formally identified, we believe it to be David. His family have been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time and a file will be passed to HM Coroner.
"We would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who responded to our previous appeal in our search to find David.
"Our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this very sad time."
