Appeal for memories of Preston's Old Tram Bridge ahead of reopening
There will be a nod to the past when the new bridge opens next month.
Residents are being invited to share their photographs and memories of the Old Tram Bridge that links Preston and South Ribble.
They will feature in a special exhibition that will be held as part of the ceremony to mark the reopening of the historic cross-river connection on 22nd May.

The pedestrian footpath and bridleway - which links Avenham Park with Penwortham - has been closed since February 2019 due to defects discovered within the previous structure.
Work on a replacement bridge is now almost complete and the exhibition aims to honour the history and significance of the original tram bridge - which opened in 1804 - while looking ahead to an exciting new chapter.
Preston City Council is now appealing for people to submit any photographs they have of the bridge, along with their name and a short memory or reflection about what it means to them
The pictures could be anything from a family photo of a day out in the park, an image from an event featuring the tram bridge in the background, a snap of a family pet, or a landscape or nature‑inspired photo
Submissions should be emailed to [email protected] by Thursday 14th May.
