A Big Thank You: We salute some of the amazing keyworkers in Preston and South Ribble who have kept us going through lockdown

Today we are saying a Big Thank You to the key workers throughout Lancashire who have kept us going during lockdown.

Health and care workers, supermarket and delivery staff, teachers, postal and council workers, charity volunteers and the 999 services - all of them have played their part.

They are the ones who have put themselves at risk by going to work so that the rest of us could stay safe at home. Some of them have even paid the ultimate price, losing their lives in the process of caring for us.

So we thought it was only right that we marked their outstanding efforts by saying thank you.

We asked you to send pictures of people you wanted to nominate - people you felt had gone the extra mile to help strangers, friends, neighbours and patients throughout the pandemic.

The upshot was we have been inundated with pictures! If your picture, or that of someone you nominated is not here, please don’t take offence.

And this is not the end of it. We will be continuing to bring you stories of the people who are making a difference in our communities as we continue to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

So please make sure you keep telling us about all of these amazing people and the selfless actions they are taking to help the rest of us.

And to all of you key workers, a BIG Thank You....we just couldn’t have made it through lockdown without you!

So we thought it was only right that we marked their outstanding efforts by saying thank you.
