Preston's Windrush Festival returned to Avenham Park yesterday and the welcome sunshine helped make the already vibrant celebration even brighter.
Running between 12:00pm and 18:00pm, the free annual event saw thousands flock to the Preston park to celebrate all things Afro-Caribbean.
The festival, now known as the Windrush North West Festival was set up in 2013 by Adrian Murell, Mellisa Hatch and Carol Harris as a family-oriented, multi-generational, cross-cultural festival.
It aims to reaffirm Caribbean identity, history, and culture for the descendants of people from the Caribbean and the wider community.
This year’s event- called Windrush 78- saw, as always, an explosion of Afro-Caribean music, food and culture bring smiles to the thousand of attendee’s faces.
Our photographer headed down on the day to capture the joyous scenes so take a look at 25 of their best photos next.
