Paul Daniels' Preston show cancelled as cancer confirmed

Paul Daniels' Guild Hall show has been cancelled after the veteran magician revealed that he has been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.

Daniels, whose TV career has spanned almost four decades, issued a statement confirming his illness.

His manager said: “We can confirm that one of our greatest magicians and entertainers of all times, Paul Daniels, has sadly been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.

“On behalf of Paul, Debbie and their families, we thank you for your kind concerns and support at this sad time and ask that their privacy continues to be respected.

“There will be no further comments at this time.”

Daniels, 77, had been due to perform at Preston Guild Hall in June as part of his ‘Intimate Magic’ tour with his wife, and long-standing glamorous assistant, Debbie McGee.

However his manager confirmed that all future shows have been cancelled.
