The work will be done at night, starting on Monday, August 17 and running until Friday, August 21.

Peter Gee, project manager for Highways England, said: “All the work is being done overnight and we don’t anticipate any delays for motorway users.

“As well as resurfacing sections of the carriageway we’ll be renewing road markings and road studs.”

The work will be carried out between 8pm and 5am each day.

Two lanes of the three-lane westbound carriageway will be closed to traffic to allow the work to take place.

On Monday, the work will be near the junction three entry slip road and that will need to be closed for the night.

Drivers will be able to use the eastbound slip road to travel to junction one and join the westbound carriageway from there.
