The modern extension office block on the railway line side of the disused Park Hotel overlooking Miller and Avenham Parks, on East Cliff, Preston, is being knocked down. Meanwhile, the original red-brick hotel building, will remain intact and will be refurbished.

Lancashire County Council’s pension fund acquired the site in 2016 and has approved plans for it to be returned to its original use. A new pavilion, spa and a replacement office building will also be created.
