PCW’s Steven Fludder - Showdown: AJ Styles v Lionheart

After surviving yet another big weekend of wrestling I have been in hibernation. Also known as by a pool sunbathing in Lanzarote. Yet again the fan feedback was wonderful and yes I am talking about the shows and not other pool side people in Lanzarote.

I am now back in Preston and ready to make the big push to promote June 5th. The show title is Showdown and the focus is on two men. One of our own roster members called Lionheart was injured taking a move from a wrestler called AJ Styles back in March 2014. Lionheart broken his neck in two places and was told he might not be able to wrestle again or even walk. Fast forward a year and Lionheart made an inspiring recovery and returned to the ring. Now he has one thing left to do to come full circle and that is to face AJ Styles. Now this match has gained international attention and the show itself is sold out (or should be when this goes online). The atmosphere will be like no other when AJ Styles will be the most hated man in Preston when he comes out through the curtain. I will be at the show of course and I am excited to see the two face off as are all the other ticket buying fans.

This week I was also at an interview for a BIBA Award. The PCW Academy made the short list for New Business Of The Year. I can only describe the experience as like going on Dragons Den. I had four judges asking me a variety of things about the business model and why we are the best new business. I was just honest to them and hoped to win them over. It really is not easy to explain wrestling and how its a viable business to a room of people who are smart with their finances. Wrestling and most forms of entertainment really is a gamble, would Disney have spent $200 million dollars making John Carter if they thought it would flop? The same can be said for wrestling and it’s very sink or swim. Thankfully right now I am not only swimming but have a nice yacht while I skim around the surface avoiding disaster haha. Hopefully the other entrants made less sense than me and I do win. An award would look nice on the wall of the Academy.
