Opening of refurbished Pavilion Café in Preston's Avenham Park postponed
The reopening of the Pavilion Café in Preston’s Avenham Park has been delayed, Preston City Council has confirmed.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the council said the opening had been postponed due to circumstances beyond its control.
A new reopening date has been set for Wednesday, February 11.

The statement read: “Pavilion Café update. We’re sorry to share that, due to circumstances beyond our control, the opening of the Pavilion Café has been postponed.
“New opening date: Wednesday 11 February.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding, we look forward to welcoming you soon.”
The council-run café closed last month for refurbishment work and had been due to reopen on February 9.
The short closure was announced to allow improvements to the interior of the popular park venue, including a redesigned counter and updated lighting aimed at creating a warmer, more welcoming space.
The Pavilion Café, which has been managed by Preston City Council since 2019, is a regular stop for park visitors and weekend runners taking part in the weekly Parkrun event.
The council has not provided further details about the reason for the delay.
