One casualty cut free after two heavy goods lorries collide on busy Ribble Valley road

One casualty had to be cut free after two heavy goods vehicles collided on a busy road in the Ribble Valley yesterday.

The accident happened just before 1-20pm on the Pimlico Link Road/A59 at Worston.

Two fire engines from Clitheroe and the major rescue unit from Preston attended. Firefighters used holmatro cutting equipment and a mobile scaffold to rescue one casualty from the vehicle who was treated at the scene by North West Ambulance Service.

Crews were at the scene for one hour and thirty minutes.
