Nurse hosts charity music night

A Preston nurse is putting final preparations together for a glamorous charity music event aimed at raising much needed funds to help young people suffering from bereavement.

Gary Barlow tribute singer Dan Hadfield will be performing at the celebratory charity night at Ribby Hall in Wrea Green in support of the Child Adult and Young Persons bereavement support group (CAYP) .

Kelly Baines, who works in the Coronary Care Unit at Royal Preston Hospital, is the link nurse for the bereavement team and has been supporting the charity group for the past few years.

Tickets are still available for the evening on Friday September 2, which as well as Dan’s performance includes a disco, a silent auction, buffet and raffle.

Kelly, 37, said: “We have got some fabulous raffle prizes including a weeks holiday at Hoburne Naish near Bournemouth, a Mini for the weekend from Bowker BMW, Spa day from Ribby Hall Village, a day abseiling in the Lake District with Evans Adventures, wine, chocolates, a beach hut from St Annes Beach huts and so much more.”

CAYP is a bereavement support service , facilitated by specialist nurses. The group provides services for children, adults and young people.

The support groups meet once a month at a set venue. The charity completely replies on fund raisers and donations in order to keep the service running.
