New fight over land-locked '˜scrubland'
In September, members of South Ribble Council’s planning committee unanymously threw out an application by Five Star Development Homes Ltd to build 12 houses on the land, to be accessed by demolishing a garage at 64 Fossdale Moss (pictured). There is no other means of gaining access.
At the meeting officers said the development would be “crammed” and be “seriously out of character with the neighbouring area”.

Hide AdResident Julie Tyrer said: the development would have a detrimental impact on properties, would increase the traffic noise and congestion in the cul-de-sac, and there was “already a weekly challenge for refuse collectors”.
But now a new application has been lodged by Five Starm, again for 12 homes on the land, again requiring the demolition of a double garage at 64 Fossdale Moss.
At time of going to press, five objections had been received from neighbours by South Ribble Council. Concerns focus on size, design and privacy.
The agent said: “They would be accessible and sustainable family homes”, inkeeping with the area.
