New EV charging scheme at Capitol Centre & 5 other new plans this week in Chorley and South Ribble

Take a look at some of the most interesting plans verified this week near you.

Plans have been launched to install a scheme of 10 electric vehicle charging spaces at the Captitol Centre in Walton-le-Dale.

An application by Iduna Evci Asset Co 1 Limited concerns 215sqm of space currently used for 17 asphalt spaces close to the Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and Subway outlets, and includes the provision of a substation and bollards.

Flooding

Based on a review of data provided by the EA, the site is considered to be at a high risk of fluvial flooding.

To mitigate risks, a Flood Risk Assessment submitted to South Ribble Borough Council (SRBC) states: “The design of the EV chargers incorporates flood resistance features to ensure safety and minimise potential damage in a flood event. These features include flood activated shut-off, and remote isolation systems.

A decision will be made in coming weeks by SRBC.
