New community centre in Hoghton near Preston officially opens following council grant
and live on Freeview channel 276
A new community centre close to Preston has officially opened following successful fundraising efforts from the community.
The centre is located on Gregson Lane in the village of Hoghton and will be a hub for activities and events for residents.

Hide AdAlongside fundraising efforts rom local residents and supporters, the centre also received a grant from South Ribble Borough Council which made the construction possible
Longstanding Hoghton residents Phyl Barnes and Pauline Thompson, were guests of honour at the event, cutting the green ribbon and welcoming guests.
Gregson Green Chairperson, Jacqui Gibson said: “We’re delighted to have officially opened our new community centre.”

Hide Ad“It’s exciting to see the centre come to life as a much-needed community space that brings people together and we’re ready to welcome local residents, community groups and organisations to book one of our rooms.”
Over 50 local people joined community groups and local dignitaries in the celebrations on Saturday 23 March as Gregson Lane Community Centre opened its doors.
Jacqui said: “The new centre build wouldn’t have been possible without the tenacity and fundraising from local residents, supporters, and a grant from South Ribble Borough Council.

Gregson Lane Community Centre is busy preparing for their popular annual events, including their family-friendly Gala Day in summer and Wine and Cheese evenings.
Gregson Lane Community Centre is managed by the charity Gregson Green, responsible for fundraising, hosting a calendar of annual events and maintenance and upkeep of the building and the playing fields.
