Mystery over popular Preston restaurant closure
Mystery surrounds the closure of a popular Italian restaurant in Preston.
The award-winning Checco's in Garstang Road appears to have shut its doors, although it is not clear if this is for good.
One member of staff contacted the Post to say they had been given little warning of the closure.
Two nearby businesses said the popular eatery seems to have been closed since last week.
The Post tried to contact Checcos' owners, both via the Preston branch and their restaurant in Great Harwood, but could not get a response.
In July this year Checco’s went on the market, for sale through commercial property advisers Christie & Co.
At the time Christie & Co confirmed that Checco’s was available on a leasehold basis.
The original Checco’s Restaurant is based in Great Harwood, near Blackburn, where it has been a family-owned business since its opening in 1990.
