Howard is an ‘international recording and concert artiste’, and his 31 years as the resident player at Scarborough Spa has earned him the nickname Mr Scarborough.

He played for Edmund Hockridge, the British answer to Howard Keel, and Colin Crompton and George Roper. He has been featured regularly on BBC Radio’s The Organist Entertains.

The Cannock Chase Club restored the majestic instrument in the Opera House to its former glory back in 2007. And more recently restored an organ to the Empress Ballroom.

* Tickets are on sale now, costing £6 for the 2pm concert, from www.wintergardens blackpool.co.uk.
