Motorcyclist dies after being airlifted to hospital following crash with Land Rover near Kirkby Lonsdale

A motorcyclist died in hospital following a collision with a Land Rover near Kirkby Lonsdale.

Emergency services were called to a report of a road traffic collision on the A683 Burrow Road at around 1.20pm on Monday.

Officers attended and found a motorbike and a Land Rover Freelander had been involved in a collision.

The motorbike rider, a 51-year-old man, suffered “serious injuries” and was taken by air ambulance to hospital.

He sadly died in hospital on Tuesday.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “Our thoughts are with the man's family and loved ones at this extremely sad and distressing time.

“As part of the investigation into the collision, our officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone who was driving in the area and has dashcam footage.”
