Michaela Strachan's wild adventures at new attraction
The wildlife expert carried out the official opening of Wild Discovery at Ribby Hall Village.
Wild Discovery is the new feature at the Wrea Green venue which it hopes will be a hit with both young and old visitors this summer.
Michaela carried out the official opening yesterday and gave her seal of approval to the attraction, which opens to the public today.
She said: “An attraction like Wild Discovery is fantastic for encouraging children to learn about animals and their habitats.
“Set within a holiday village, Wild Discovery will bring animal encounters to a new audience and add another dimension to the holiday experience.”
The five star holiday village now hosts a new hands-on animal experience enabling children to get up close and learn about the amazing animal kingdom.
Wild Discovery is made up of four areas – The Farmyard, Safari Walk, Exotics House and Birds of the World where children can experience close encounters with a variety of animals including pigs, snakes, lizards and rabbits to name a few. Wild Discovery brings the animal kingdom to life with it’s educational and interactive talks and presentations for all ages.
Alongside the Farmyard animals is an Exotics House with miniature frogs, snakes, insects and meerkats. A special Safari Walk takes visitors through a walkway visiting Rhea, Alpacas and Wallabies.
Wild Discovery Director Neil Trickett said: “Wild Discovery is an interactive and educational wildlife centre for all ages, promoting animal welfare and conservation of the world’s biodiversity.”
Children will be able to enjoy interactive sessions, learning about the animals and their habitats.
Ribby Hall Village is located in 100 acres of landscaped grounds and the natural backdrop provides the perfect new home for Wild Discovery.
