Meet the owners of Sun & Salt Mediterranean-inspired Chorley restaurant that has doubled in covers
Meet the owners of a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in Chorley that has impressively doubled its covers intake in only a few months.
Sam White and his partner Jess, both 30, co-run Sun & Salt, located at 8 Cleveland Street, which specialises in freshly made mezze platters such as greek salads, pizza and hummus, upsized in January from a little 16 seater cafe to a 40 seater restaurant with a small standalone bar.

The business also offers speciality coffee, brunch and pastries alongside a healthy and homemade lunch option throughout the week.
In the evenings guests are treated to a more refined, sharing style small plates menu, a selection of natural and organic wines, local beers and some beautiful cocktails.

Sam said: “We’re a neighbourhood restaurant based in Chorley and this was a huge undertaking for us, we spent our deposit for our first home on the renovation and did almost everything ourselves, so we’re really proud of everything we’ve accomplished in the past 12 months.
“We are trying to bring a slice of what we love so much about our favourite bars and restaurants in places like Manchester, Liverpool, Athens and Barcelona to our hometown.
“Our goal has always been to create a casual dining spot for people to enjoy, we want our customers to feel comfortable coming for an afterwork meal without changing from office attire, but also make somewhere that’s nice enough that you could celebrate a birthday or anniversary here.”
Recently the pair also worked with their friends at Stray cocktail bar in Manchester - who were recently voted as the 25th best cocktail bar in the country, on developing a cocktail menu for the restaurant and bar.
Sam added: “Ben and the team from Stray worked with us to develop a number of really elevated and refined drinks, using ingredients and flavours from the Mediterranean.
“We’re extremely proud of the work that’s gone into this and are really excited to be bringing this standard of drink offering to our home town.”
