'Lucky escape' after suspected drink-driver flips car on rural lane near Ormskirk
A motorist had a “very lucky escape” after a car overturned on a country lane near Ormskirk late on Sunday night, police said.
Officers were called at around 10.15pm to reports of a vehicle on its roof.
When Special Constable Robyn and a colleague arrived, they found the car had flipped and come to rest in the middle of the road.

The driver had managed to free himself through a smashed window and was being looked after by a local resident.
SC Robyn arranged for crews from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service to make the vehicle safe before it was recovered. Her colleague carried out roadside checks on the driver.
Police said the man provided a breath test reading of 83 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
He was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving and taken into custody via A&E as a precaution to ensure he was not injured.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “The photos speak for themselves. This driver had a very lucky escape.
“Please don't get in the car after drinking, even if you feel like you're not impaired.”
