Live music, Children vs Food and more entertainment lined up for next week’s Leyland Food Fayre

As well as a host of tempting food and drink stalls set up in the town centre and around Leyland Market, there will also be a variety of live acts and activities to attract crowds to the event on Saturday, August 29.

Favourites from Leyland Live are coming along to perform in the dedicated music tent set up in Balfour Court, opposite the market entrance, along with some newcomers to the town.

Acoustic singer and guitarist Connor Banks is making a name for himself on the Leyland music scene, having performed at previous Live events and at the town’s Christmas celebrations.

The 12-year-old, who attends Hutton Grammar School, performs songs from the likes of Ed Sheeran, James Bay, Olly Murs and George Ezra.

Another act popular with the Live crowds and its organisers the Creative Network, is Lancashire folk duo So Far So Good, who will also have a couple of sets during the food festival.

They will be joined by a group of singers called Harmonic Fold, who sing a variety of Motown tunes and classics from the 1960s, 70s and 80s.

A magician, balloon modeller and face-painter are also attending the event, thanks to Northern Lights Entertainments, and will help to keep youngsters entertained as families make their way around the food fayre, which will also see stalls set up on Hough Lane.

The event, organised by the Leyland Guardian and sponsored by the Play Pad, will also see visitors try their hand at cupcake decorating with Debby Williams from the Touch of Love cake stall inside Leyland Market.

South Ribble Council and market traders, which have helped organise the fayre, will also be putting on a special Children vs Food competition.
