Lifeboat crews received a call at 3.45pm on Sunday, May 3 about a five-year-old boy who had gone missing for half an hour on the beach near Thornton Road in Morecambe.
Police had been searching during which Morecambe RNLI was assembled by the lifeboat operations manager Steve Wilson acting in his capacity as launch authority.
On this occasion the little boy was found safe and well before a launch commenced.
Lifeboat Operations Manager Steve Wilson said: “Morecambe RNLI remain steadfast and resilient to respond to calls during these testing times with the Coronavirus.
"I would like to take this opportunity to remind all regarding the dangers of rapidly incoming tides and quicksand and to heed caution when taking daily exercise on the coast”.
