The garden was designed by Annie Wynn along the show’s theme of The Curious Garden and built by volunteers in a week for around £400.

It took features and characteristics from some of Let’s Grow Preston’s community gardens, including a mini forest of bonsai trees.

The central feature is the Useful Tower adding height and interest, like the Let’s Grow Preston network it provides different perspectives, support plants and invites you to ask questions. The garden has been visited by Mayor of Preston Brian Rollo and BBC North West.

Annie said: “This is absolutely wonderful for our charity. The tower represents our community network and its flexibility and transparency. That’s what I wanted to convey. It is a brilliant opportunity for our volunteers to get involved and build a show garden. It was very interactive and there was so much to look at. The longer you stayed, the more you saw.

“I am very proud for the volunteers who helped put it together.”
