'I usually buy building equipment but now I've accidentally bought four dinosaurs' says Lancashire man

A Lancashire man ‘accidentally’ bought four dinosaurs during a trip to an auction.

The impulsive grandfather from Wrea Green has had some explaining to do after he went off to an auction to buy building equipment and came home with four massive dinosaurs which he said he bought ‘accidentally.’

Darren Schreiber, a builder by trade, but in a cheeky bid for the huge dinosaurs when he spotted them at auction, thinking that his grandchildren would love them but not really considering the reality of taking them home. Then he won the lot.

“I buy a lot of unusual stuff - or ‘rubbish’ as my kids say!” said Darren, who now has a well-earned reputation as ‘the best granddad in the world’. “I usually buy building stuff at auction, but I’ve ended up with these four big dinosaurs for my grandkids, and they love them!

“The wife never liked me, but she definitely doesn’t like me now!” he added, laughing.
