Lancashire drama groups win NODA awards

The group (pictured) won five categories, including best musical, director, choreographer, and staging for Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Liam McCann also achieved best supporting actor for the group’s Sleeping Beauty pantomime.Preston Gilbert and Sullivan Society also won five awards for The Mikado, including best chorus, best actress, director, managing director and best show.St Leonard’s Gilbert and Sullivan Society achieved best actor for Iolanthe.The Longton Players won best supporting actress and best director for Holmes; The Hall Players, based in Fulwood, won best ensemble play for The History Boys and best actress for Snow White; Preston Drama Club win most entertaining female; Harlequins Players garnered most entertaining male for Inspector Drake and the Black Widow.The awards were held at The Hilton Hotel in Blackpool. Eddie Regan, the District 2 regional representative at NODA, said: “We would like to thank everyone for attending the event and supporting NODA. We wish everyone well for their productions this year.”
