Lancashire care home to go under the auctioneer's hammer - here's the guide price

Lancashire County Council are disposing of a care home next week - by putting it out to auction.

The authority’s Director of Growth and Property decided in January to get rid of the vacant Willow Lane Residential Home in Lancaster, which has prominent corner frontages to St Thomas More Walk and Europa Way, west of the city centre.

Described as “a flexible terrace of interlinked residential propertiesgardens and car park on a site of approximately 0.259 hectare (0.64 acre)”, the property has a guide price of £300,000 when it goes under the hammer on March 10.

The building has approximately 29 rooms and ancillary accommodation plus storage and conservatory totalling approximately 549m2 / 5,910 sq ft, and auctioneer Barnard Marcus said: “The property may be suitable for a variety of uses or potential development – subject to consents where necessary and purchasers must rely upon their own enquiries in this respect.”
