Eve Reid, from Eccleston near Chorley, has also raised more than £1,000 which will be given to The Little Princess Trust.
Now proudly sporting a chin-length bob, Eve had four plaits cut off totalling 14 and a half inches in total which will be sent to the charity to make wigs.
Eve’s mum Gill says her daughter loved the haircut and that she’s overwhelmed by how much they’ve raised.
She said: “Eve loves her new haircut and she’s been so excited about getting it done. She’s really well known for her hair because even as a baby it’s been really long and thick. She gets lots of comments on how nice it is and she’s looking forward to sending it away to the trust.”
Eve had the chop at the Colour Room at Heskin Hall and by the end of the cut £1,030 had been raised. A wig costs £350 to make and Eve plans to send the charity the money as well as her hair to help as many people as possible.
Eve who attends Eccleston St Mary’s was taken to Verdes Italian restaurant as a treat for the feat and mum Gill says she’s very proud.
“She’s been so good with it all and loved every second of it,” she said. “I think she quite liked being a bit of a celebrity with having all the photos taken and she likes showing off her new hair.”
The Little Princess Trust provides real-hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other illnesses.
