Injured motorcyclist dies in hospital

A MOTORCYCLIST, who was seriously injured following a collision in Pilling last month, has died.

The collision happened at around 12.25pm on Tuesday March 10 on the A588, Head Dyke Lane in Pilling.

It is thought that a Honda motorcycle travelling towards Lancaster was involved in a collision with a Fiat Stilo.

Biker Michael Tyson, 66, from Knott End, was taken by air ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital where he died in on Thursday April 2.

PC Adam Lloyd of the Road Policing Unit said: “This is a tragic incident where a man has sadly lost his life and my thoughts remain with his family and friends at this time.

“An investigation into how the collision occurred is on-going but I would re-appeal to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to us and may have seen either vehicle leading up to the collision or the collision itself to come forward.”
