The couple, who live in Penwortham and both work for BAE Systems, first crossed paths i n November 2005 when Vicci was working in a bar in Preston.

“Scott was sitting at the end of the bar when I took a break from my shift and sat down next to him,” says Vicci.

“Our eyes met and he thought he would hit me with his best chat up line - we hit it off from there really.”

On their eighth anniverary Scott and Vicci were at the top of Catbells above Derwentwater, where they visit every year with their dog, Guinness.

“It’s a very special place to us and at the top, Scott propopsed with his grandmother’s wedding ring,” says Vicci.

“He had to check I had said yes as I was so out of breath from climbing the hill and was so in shock I had forgot to answer him.”

On August 3, Vicci and Scott exchanged vows at Bartle Hall’s Windsor suite.

“Scott had arranged for a car to pick me and the girls up at half 11 from Be Beautiful in Hutton where we were getting our hair and make up done.

“But half 11 came and went with no car - turns out the driver had gone to Be Beautiful in Fulwood instead,” adds Vicci.

“When he eventually arrived over half and hour late he got us to Bartle Hall in about 10 minutes, I think it must be a land speed record!”

As the pair were due to arrive at the venue at the same time, Scott and the boys had to be sent on another detour so the bride could arrive with the groom seeing her.

“The day couldn’t have gone better,” say the newlyweds, “very relaxed with good food, good wine and wonderful company.”

And the bride’s mum, who is terminally ill, was also be there to see her daughter walk down the aisle.

“It was just a very intimate and magical day, and it was even more special as my mum was able to be there,” adds Vicci.
