“We were called to reports of a robbery at around 6.50am. It appears two members of staff were opening the shutters of the store in readiness to open for business.

“As they went in they locked the door behind them but, as they were doing that, a man kicked open the door and entered the shop.

“He was carrying a knife. But it would appear that at the same moment a delivery driver arrived at the scene and the man made off.

“It would appear no-one was harmed. But at this stage it is not clear if anything has been stolen.

“If anyone has any information that would help us apprehend this inndividual we would appreciate it if they got in touch on 101 or through Crimestoppers, quoting log reference number 0208 of July 8.”
