Here's why Professor Brian Cox turned up at Lancashire Police Museum

Lancashire Police Museum received an unexpected high-profile visitor this week when Professor Brian Cox toured its historic exhibits.

Lancashire Police Museum welcomed a distinguished guest this week as Professor Brian Cox paid a visit to the attraction.

The British particle physicist and well-known BBC presenter spent time touring the museum’s collection during a private visit on Thursday.

Staff said they were “delighted” to show Professor Cox around the venue, which is housed in the former prison cells beneath Lancaster Castle.

The museum, run in partnership with Lancashire Constabulary and the Duchy of Lancaster, charts more than 200 years of local policing history through artefacts, archival material and reconstructed scenes.

During his visit, Professor Cox viewed a range of displays including historic uniforms, early investigative equipment and exhibits exploring major Lancashire cases.
