Comedian Dave Spikey revealed Astley’s name at a Guide Dogs event in October.

Siobhan Cullen, community fund-raiser at Guide Dogs, said: “Time seems to have flown by since we received our very first pictures of little Astley back in October but this hasn’t stopped the tremendous efforts of the local community.

“We can’t thank the businesses, pupils and residents of the Chorley community enough for their support so far.”

Astley is spending 12 months with a puppy walker before going to Guide Dog training school.
