Preston 10-year-old Jamie visits his 100th country to watch Anthony Joshua fight
Jamie Meconi, a 10-year-old from Preston, has reached a remarkable milestone by visiting his 100th country, with his family choosing Saudi Arabia to watch Anthony Joshua box, as part of their globe-trotting adventures
Preston born Jamie Meconi has just celebrated visiting his 100th country in style - at age of 10
The family chose Saudi Arabia as their 100th country to watch Anthony Joshua box.
Mum Hayley said: “We wanted to mark Jamie’s 100th country milestone in a special way and Saudi Arabia checked all our boxes especially when it meant we could see one of our boxing heroes up close too.

“Travel is all about creating special memories and this one will live on in our hearts forever.”
Jamie’s adventures have seen him plant trees in the Borneo rainforest and help build a school In Tanzania.
The fundraiser for Tanzania provided education materials, essential medical supplies and a safe place for 100’s of children.
He has raised awareness and funding for the children of the Omo Valley tribes in Ethiopia.

His mum added: “I have watched my little human grow into the most wonderful and kind little boy and I am so incredibly proud to be his mum.
“We have built a whole lifetime of memories together and now we share more precious moments as a family too. Life is not always perfect, but we are and always will be our perfect.”
She said travelling opened their eyes to “whole new perspectives, cultures, religions and traditions” and life was now a “rainbow of colour and diversity”.

Jamie lost his father was he was just six-months-old.
Hayley said: “Time is such a precious commodity and comes with no guarantee so they decided to make the most of life, to explore the world.
“I wanted Jamie to grow with joy in his soul and love in his heart. For him to learn about the different cultures and people, to embrace everything.”
In October Hayley will publish a book all about their travel adventures that include visiting both of the poles, swimming with whale sharks and planting trees in Borneo.

She will also share the challenges of world schooling and why she believes travel is so important for children as they gain new perspectives, get to absorb new cultures and gain a greater understanding of the world.
Hayley said: “Our journey began back in September 2017 when my little boy’s daddy gained his angel wings.
“My little boy had already lost one parent and I didn’t want to be that mum that went to work at 7am and came home at 7pm. I wanted more from life.
“I wanted more from life. I wanted to be there to hear Jamie’s first words and seen him take those first steps. Time is such a precious commodity and I didn’t want to waste a moment of it.”
