Longton Live! will run tomorrow and Saturday, and will see the very best of local talent perform in 16 venues across the village.

This year’s event sees a line-up of music including pop, rock, punk, rap, folk, R&B, soul, reggae, 1920s, gospel and jazz. There will also be choirs, show tunes, and French coffee shop music for crowds to enjoy.

As well as the usual live music, there will also be drama and comedy performances thrown into the mix.

Organiser Nigel Stewart from Creative Network, said: “This is the third time we’ve put on this annual festival of music and the creative arts and, building upon the success of previous years, we will be featuring everything from choirs to rock and everything in-between.

“A total of 16 venues, more than 70 acts, and 125 appearances means an absolute feast to warm the cockles of any music-lover’s heart.”

Wristbands, costing £5, give entry to all the venues for all performances. Under 12s go free. They are now for sale at venues and from performers.

Longton Live! is organised by the Creative Network, with support from South Ribble Borough Council’s Western Parishes Neighbourhood Forum. Schedules can be found on www.facebook.com/longtonlive
