From coach to co-owner: Bamber Bridge gym marks 5 years with a new name, new partnership & free party

Transform Hub was founded by Penwortham personal trainer James Calderbank, and is the fastest-growing gym franchise of its kind, designed for busy adults aged 35 plus.

Transform Hub Bamber Bridge is celebrating its fifth birthday with a major relaunch.

The gym will now be known as Transform Hub Preston South, and it’s undergone a full refurbishment with new owners after Clitheroe gym owner Kieran Kelly and coach-turned-gym owner, Tom Beaney joined forces to take it on.

Kieran owns Transform Hub Clitheroe, where Tom had been excelling in coaching, helping members change their lives week in, week out. When the opportunity came up to buy Bamber Bridge, the pair took it on together as business partners, and Tom has gone from coaching on the gym floor to co-owning a gym of his own.

"Tom is a brilliant coach who lives and breathes what we do, and our members at Clitheroe love him," said Kieran. "When Bamber Bridge came up, there was nobody I'd rather build it with."

"Coaching at Clitheroe showed me what a gym can do for people when the coaching and the community are right," said Tom. "I've watched members find confidence, friendships and a completely different outlook on life. Getting the chance to build that for Bamber Bridge, as an owner, is something I'm incredibly proud of."

New chapter

Kieran and Tom have stripped the Bamber Bridge gym right back and refurbished it from the ground up, giving it a completely new look and feel. The new name reflects the hub's commitment to serving the wider community, welcoming people from Bamber Bridge and right across the south of Preston.

"Bamber Bridge is our home and that will never change," said Tom. "The new name is our way of saying the door is open to everyone across South Preston. Wherever you're travelling from, this is your gym and your community."

"As the owner of an existing Transform Hub, I've seen first-hand the difference the right environment, coaching and community can make," said Kieran. "So when the opportunity came to take over Bamber Bridge, it felt like the perfect chance to bring that same passion, energy and experience to a new community. And I didn't do it alone. Taking it on with Tom as my partner, a coach who has helped so many people change their lives at Clitheroe, says everything about how we grow at Transform Hub."

"This is so much bigger than a new coat of paint or a change of name over the door. It's a fresh burst of energy and a brand new chapter, built around great coaching, hard work, community and helping people become the best version of themselves. New look, new energy, same Transform Hub passion. We can't wait to build the next five years with the people of Bamber Bridge and South Preston."

UK network

Transform Hub was founded by Penwortham personal trainer James Calderbank, and is the fastest-growing gym franchise of its kind, designed for busy adults aged 35 plus.

It combines online coaching with small, coach-led group sessions at the hub, and there are no mirrors on the walls, so members can focus on how they feel rather than how they look while they train.

Party time

Alongside its regular sessions, the hub runs a packed calendar of events, including fitness events and new class formats, group hikes, socials, talks and seminars, and games evenings.

And accordingly, to mark five years and the start of a new chapter, Transform Hub Preston South is throwing a relaunch party on Saturday, October 24 October from 12pm until 3pm at 32 Dollywaggon Way, Bamber Bridge - and the whole town is invited.

Locals can join members for a free workout, see the newly refurbished gym, meet Tom, Kieran and the coaching team. All ages and fitness levels are welcome, and nobody needs to have set foot in a gym before.
