Fracking report submitted to government

The report by the Planning Inspectorate on Cuadrilla's appeal against the decision to refuse fracking in Lancashire has been submitted to the government.

Following the public inquiry against the decision made by Lancashire County Council, that ran over six weeks in Blackpool, the planning inspector has submitted her final report and recommendation to the Department for Communities and Local Government.

A final decision is expected to be made by Secretary of State Greg Clark by October 6.

The Planning Inspector’s report and recommendation will not be released publicly until the Secretary of State has made a decision.

Francis Egan, CEO of Cuadrilla, said: “We are pleased to have received confirmation that the Planning Inspector has submitted her report and recommendation to the Government. We now look forward to a decision by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.”
