Four mums embark on 100km walk in 24 hours to raise £13,000 for five causes
The foursome had a maximum target of £10,000 but were blown away when they reached the amount before their trek around the Trough of Bowland.
Sharon Hartley, 45, Ann Boardman, 44, Emily Hanson, 38, all from Catterall and 45-year-old Mandy Richardson, from Bilsborrow, embarked on their walking mission on Saturday morning hoping to finish at 8am on Sunday.

As they made their way over rivers and through bogs the group made it to the half way point after trekking 50kms to Dunsop Bridge.
But organisers Pure Challenge had some bad news for the four women.
Sharon said: “We were told the walk had been cancelled due to safety concerns. The weather had been really bad for the whole 12 hours we’d been walking and so we were told we couldn’t go any further.

But despite the set back in their challenge, a further £3,000 has been raised since.
The money will be given to five causes - Macmillan Cancer Support, Parkinson’s UK, two young boys with different conditions and Jelly Beans pre-school in Churchtown.
And with a big fundraising night coming up in May, Sharon is hoping they can double their original target and reach £20,000.

The foursome’s next big fundraiser is being held in Bilsborrow Village Hall on May 26 with football boots signed by Premier League players just some of the rare prizes on offer in a huge raffle.
