Former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn delights in Blackpool night out
Ex-soap star in town with husband for comedy show
The 44-year-old, who played Mandy Richardson on the Channel 4 soap between 1996 and 2021, took to social media to proclaim the delight of a visit to the resort with husband Jonathan Smith to take in comedian James Acaster’s recent show at the Winter Gardens
Sarah’s Instagram post said: “Rare date night with Jon… and we actually stayed out past 9pm. Popped our glad rags on and headed to Blackpool to see the brilliant James Acaster - proper belly laughs, we needed that after a busy few weeks, hardly seen each other.”
Just over 15 years after her first appearance on Hollyoaks as Mandy, Leigh-born Sarah left the soap in November 2021.

It was reported that she had been "axed" from the show, with the reason given that her activity on the over-18s site OnlyFans, which she had joined a month earlier, was "not in line with Hollyoaks’ target audience".
Sarah is married to Jonathan "Jon" Smith, a personal trainer and gym owner. The couple tied the knot in May 2018 at The Holford Estate in Cheshire and have a son together named Stanley, born in 2016.
