Preston-based The Floyd Band will perform at the Lancastrian Suite on July 16, at 7.30pm, with an even bigger set.

They visited the venue last year, which was a huge sell-out and the seven-piece band are expecting the same success this time.

As they cover a huge catalogue of hits from the progressive rock group, they have incorporated special lighting to increase the theatrics of the show.

Vocalist and rhythm guitarist David Tingle said: “We have extended our set from last year. We will do songs from Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here and a large section from The Wall. We will also do a bonus Meddle with the Division Bell.

“We sold out last year and hope to do the same again his time.

“We have increased the amount of lighting to do an even better theatrical show. The lights and music are all part of one package as Pink Floyd lends itself to that kind of show.

“We have always loved Pink Floyd’s music. It is still incredibly popular and every gig is sold out. People across the ages love the music. I have loved Pink Floyd since I was 10 and my son used to play bass in our band.

“People are very emotionally attached to the music and it is important for us to have that kind of connection.

“The council is fully behind the concert as it was thrilled by the response to last year’s performance and is keen to see the Lancastrian Suite used in such as positive way.”

Tickets for the show cost £12.50 and are available online from http://www.seetickets.com or from Malcolm’s Musicland in Chorley by calling 01257 254362.
