Flat fire in Preston

Crews were called to Leighton Street where a mall fire had broken out in a third floor flat at around 5.40pm yesterday.

A service spokesman said the fire had burnt out by the time they arrived, but crews used a fan unit to extract smoke from the kitchen.

He said: “There were no casualties.”
