Firefighters strip roof of Much Hoole home after blaze breaks out

Firefighters had to strip the roof of a house after a blaze near Preston today.

Four engines and an aerial platform were called to deal with the fire in the top of the domestic property in Much Hoole at around 2pm this afternoon.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue service said: "Four fire engines from Tarleton, Chorley, Ormskirk and Bolton-le-Sands, and an aerial ladder platform were called to a house fire on Green Hey, Much Hoole.

"Firefighters used six breathing apparatus, two jets and stripped back the roof to extinguish the fire.

"No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation."
