Fire Crews tackle early morning blaze

There was early hours drama on a Preston Street when fire engines rushed to a blaze at a house in the city.

Firefighters attended the fire at a house on Dallas Street during the early hours of Sunday morning.

They were called out to tackle the blaze at 1.23am.

Two fire engines from Preston attended the incident, involving the first floor of the house.

It is not yet known what caused the blaze, which alarmed neighbours on the residential street, off the city’s Blackpool Road.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, a ventilation unit and one hose reel to bring the fire under control.

Despite the drama, no one was injured in the fire and no rescues were were made by firefighters during the course of the incident.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The cause of the fire is under investigation.

“Happily, no one was injured.”

The damage caused by the blaze is also being assessed. No other properties are thought to have been damaged.
