Family stops for barbecue near Lancaster...on the M6!
Motorway police were shocked to discover a family making unusual use of the hard shoulder on the M6 near Lancaster on Sunday.
The family, on holiday from France, decided to stop for a barbecue – until they were advised to move on by officers for their own safety.
The incident happened just after 3pm on Sunday.
North West Motorway Police later tweeted: “Remember the hard shoulder is for emergencies and not delicacies”.
